Daily Bible Reading Thoughts for Today – October 2, 2019
Verily, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he became my salvation. WithLuckyou will draw water from the springs of salvation.Isaiah 12:2-3
Complete trust in God is available to all blood-bought followers of Jesus Christ. It means you give up total control and the assurance of the Lord replaces your fear with peace. You cannot understand everything, but you have the ability to trust him completely. It's a matter of trust, and if he's who he says he is, he can be trusted. If you can trust Him with your soul's eternal salvation, you can trust Him with temporal control of your life. If you can trust him with the big things, you can trust him with the small things.
When He has guided you to the right mate, He will provide you with opportunities to provide for yourself. If he has guided you into a new career, he will give you the wisdom, finances and relationships to succeed. If he has led you to become a missionary, he will bridge cultural barriers that will allow you to connect with people. If He inspired you to have children, He will provide you with the tools you need to be a successful parent.
Where God leads, He provides. What God begins, he completes. His part is supply and your part is trust. Don't fall into the trap of trusting him with some things and not trusting him with others. Distrust of God is uncomfortable and an insult to his integrity. How can God not be big enough to handle every situation? Health, war, teenagers, money, conflict, prosperity, relationships and people can all be placed in his hands. One can trust God because he is trustworthy.
The well of His salvation is infinitely deep. They can only be used to a limited extent. However, its character and resources are limitless. Without the support of a merciful Jesus, you will be immobilized, even crushed under the weight of worry. Jesus understands and is offended when you don't yield to his support.
There is no need to dig around looking for answers when He has already found them. There's no reason to sacrifice your health to worry and work too hard when it offers you peace and opportunities you haven't discovered yet. There is no need to rush through life and then ask Him to bless your efforts. He can be counted on to guide you even before you put a prayer plan into action.
Trusting God does not mean acting irresponsibly and asking for forgiveness later. Trusting God means patiently walking with Him in your choices and decisions. Slow down, look up, trust him and watch him reap extraordinary results. Partial trust leads to frustration and worry. Total trust in Jesus leads to contentment, joy, and peace.
The Bible says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding; acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
